North Shore Day Camp
Dear NSDC Families,
On Monday, July 15th North Shore Day Camp will be sponsoring our annual Morry’s Swim-A-Thon to raise money for children from under-resourced communities who would otherwise not be able to attend summer camp.
Project Morry, founded in honor of Morry Stein, is a comprehensive, year round youth development organization dedicated to empowering children from under-resourced communities to create a positive future. It closes the opportunity gap through a combination of academic enrichment and support, leadership development, an exceptional summer camp experience, and one-on-one mentoring. Youth participate free of charge.
Project Morry is a unique 9 year program where children attend from their summer after fourth grade through high school graduation. They attend monthly school year meetings and 3 weeks of sleepaway camp at Morry’s Camp in rural Glen Spey, NY.
North Shore Day Camp families have helped make us one of the leading camps in helping fund camperships to Morry’s Camp. Campers will either swim or walk laps and we will send home a record of the number of laps your camper swam (or walked for our non-swimmers). You can make a per lap donation or a flat rate donation. All donations are tax deductible. A lap sheet will come home in your child’s backpack after the Swim-A-Thon.
Our North Shore Day Camp families have been incredibly generous in the past and have truly made a difference in lives of hundreds of children.

The camp community is incredibly supportive of Project Morry, particularly through Camps that Give. Private for-profit camps and the inspired kids who attend them partner with Project Morry and undertake fundraisers to help us continue our work.

We love that many of the young campers who participate in Camps that Give over the summer are inspired to continue fundraising back in their communities. Through individual acts of kindness and group efforts, our youngest contributors come up with creative ways to support Project Morry, including lemonade stands, swim team events, clubs at school, and asking friends and family to donate in celebration of their bar and bat mitzvahs. It is a great way to get your community involved, have fun and make a difference
