Latest from Project Morry
Summer camp creates opportunities for youth to grow, to learn, and to take risks. Camp creates confidence, leadership skills, independence, and most of all joy! Anyone who has attended camp or sent their kids knows how transformative the experience is.
The research proves what we already know. Camp creates the skills for long term academic and career success. An American Camping Association study of more than 5,000 families and 92 camps found that camps “build skills necessary to prepare campers to assume roles as successful adults…camp provides growth experiences for youth that can benefit them through adulthood.”
Project Morry was founded to provide these life changing benefits to youth in under-resourced communities year round. Project Morry provides a 3 week sleepaway camp, through Morry’s Camp, giving campers a supportive space to connect with their peers and undertake personal and academic development through challenges and safe risk-taking.
Morry’s Camp also gives our kids a chance to just be kids. They learn to swim, make new friends, spend time outside, and unplug. All of these support the positive impact of summer camp on children’s social, emotional, and physical well-being.
Because of your support, nearly 350 Project Morry youth are able to attend Morry’s Camp each summer. This is a unique and life changing experience for our kids, many of whom do not have a family tradition of summer camp and would not be able to afford it without Project Morry.
Camp starts June 28th. As families and children send off their camp trunks in eager anticipation of summer adventures, help us create a summer of joy, friendships, and growth.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a great summer!
