Project Morry’s Year End Appeal

Project Morry’s Year End Appeal

What a Year!

In 2020, Project Morry celebrated 25 Years of empowering youth and families to create positive futures and long-term change in their communities. We have so much to be proud of starting with our incredible alumni who now have college and graduate school degrees, successful careers and small businesses and are parents, leaders, and activists. They truly demonstrate the long-term impact of Project Morry.

2020 has also been one of our most challenging years yet for our students and communities. Our youth and families are already vulnerable. Each year Project Morry serves 400 youth in some of the most under-resourced communities in the tri-state area. Already facing opportunity gaps and economic challenges, they are also impacted by the disproportionate effect of the pandemic on low income families and communities of color, our students need us now more than ever.

Your support makes Project Morry’s innovative and vital programs possible.

Project Morry rose to this critical moment by reimagining our programs to engage our students remotely on a weekly basis creating structure and consistency in uncertain times. We continue to provide academic support, stress management and mindfulness, as well as time management to support their educational goals. Staff works with our 11th and 12th graders on college readiness, ensuring they meet critical deadlines for applications and financial aid, and connect to virtual college fairs and college-led Q&A sessions. We also created the Main Event, a monthly student and alumni led forum to discuss current events and focus on social and racial justice.

It was also fitting that in our 25th Anniversary year, Project Morry expanded our commitment to youth from 9 to 10 years with the launch of our newest program: The Bridge Year. The Bridge Year supports our college freshman with as they navigate the critical first year after high school with academic, emotional, and financial resources.

Renew your support by December 31st to ensure 2021 continues Project Morry’s mission.

Thank you for supporting our students in the moments it matters most. The change you create lasts a lifetime.
